"What does it mean to be a church member?"

Becoming a church member means that you want to be a meaningful part of the ministry at Second Baptist Church. If you have received Christ as your Lord and sense God wants you to join us in sharing His love with the world, then we invite you to join our spiritual family!

"I'd like to become a member! What do I do now?"

• The new Christian: If you've recently received Christ as your Lord, you may become a member by confessing your new faith by water baptism.
• Already a Member of Another Baptist Church: If you are presently a member of another Baptist church, you can transfer you membership to our church.
• The non-Baptist who's already been baptized: If you are a member of another denomination, have received Christ and confessed your faith through water baptism, you may become a member by stating this information to your counselor.
• The non-Baptist who's never been baptized: If you're a member of another denomination and have received Christ but have not been immersed, you may become a member by being baptized.

"I still have some questions."

This is not unusual. You're dealing with important spiritual decisions. Make sure you understand the issues. Our pastors will be glad to talk to you. Feel free to speak to one of our pastors after a worship service or call the church office for an appointment.
