Sunday, June 28 - Day 1

10:45pm - We made it to Wichita this evening after an eventful day of driving and the
wonderful church bus (pictured above) breaking down on us twice (transmission trouble).
We finally left it at a Ford dealer in Tulsa, rented two minivans and headed on to Wichita.
The key word for mission trips is... "FLEXIBLE" and our students did awesome rolling with
the situation, swapping vehicles and had a great attitude through the whole thing.

We've had several meetings getting ready for the first day of Crazy Awesome Fun Camp
and service projects tomorrow, have unpacked, settled in, and will be going to bed soon.
Thanks for your prayers today and please continue praying for us tomorrow as we begin
ministering to the kids and families in Wichita.

Monday, June 29 - Day 2
11:05pm - We have had a wonderful day today. We ministered to 115 kids today in two
Crazy Awesome Fun Camps - one this morning and one this evening. The church we are
working was blown away by how awesome our team is and has bragged on our students
often today.

Our students began forming relationships today that will develope the rest of the week.
Please pray that they will have opportunities to share Christ with them this week. One kid
in particular stood out that many of us are investing in that really needs to know Christ. His
name is Zack. He is a 5th grader and came to our evening camp today. He did not want to
be there and punched most of our adults and kept wandering off. By the end of the camp, he
had settled down, was having fun and responding well to us. He said he is definately coming
back tomorrow. Please pray specifically for Zack by name that we can share Christ with him
and that he will be open to the Gospel.

Tuesday, June 30 - Day 3
11:30pm - We had another awesome day today with more kids showing up for Crazy Awesome Fun
Camp than yesterday. That's always a good sign that the kids are having a great time.
We had our first kid accept Christ today. Actually, he's not a kid, he's an 8th grader here
on vacation from California. His name is Zach (not the same Zack from yesterday's post)
and is visiting his grandmother till the end of July and came to the camp today to stay and
watch his cousins. Kyle, Dane and Matt were getting to know him and Kyle started asking
him spiritual questions and before we knew it, an opportuniy to share the bridge using
sidewalk chalk presented itself and Zack trusted Christ this morning. Please pray that Zach
can get plugged in to Aviator Church while he is here and start getting discipled before he
goes home to California.

After being faced with the challenge of no kitchen to cook in, our food team and really done
an amazing job of providing food for us and the kids at the camp. They brought a couple grills
with them and they set them up at the park and do all the cooking at the park. The food we
have had has been wonderful and we are so thankful for our food team and their creative
approach to mission trip cooking.

There are two days left for camp. Pray that we will more opportunities to share Christ with
the kids God is bringing to us.

The Men on the trip in their pink ASK ME shirts. For some, this is their first time to ever wear
pink. I obviously got to Bob Leffert who is kissing Jim Moore.

The little boy on the right loved the super hero theme that he wore his Spider Man costume today.

Wednesday, July 1 - Day 4
Today was another great day in Wichita. We had more kids again today than yesterday and
the kids get more excited as the week goes on. We had at least three children accept Christ
as their Savior! Joe, the church planter for Aviator Church, and his staff, have been totally
impressed with the depth of our students. One of the interns for Aviator said that the one
word he continues to think of as he thinks of our group is "deep." We are so blessed to serve
the Lord with such an amazing group of students and adults! The Gospel is being proclaimed
both in the inner-city and in Derby.
